The course on SMARTER, FASTER, BETTER: HOW AI IS RESHAPING THE ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY WORKFLOW will be held June 19th, 2026, and feature a clinically applicable program aimed at the sonographer/practitioner directly involved in performing and reporting echocardiography studies.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming cardiovascular imaging, offering unprecedented opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in echocardiography. The modern echocardiography laboratory faces increasing demands for higher throughput, standardized reporting, and integration with multimodal imaging and clinical workflows. AI-powered tools—ranging from automated image acquisition and quantification to advanced interpretation and reporting systems—are poised to address these challenges, allowing clinicians to focus more on patient care and less on repetitive manual tasks.

This course, “Smarter, Faster, Better: How AI Is Reshaping the Echocardiography Workflow,” aims to provide clinicians, sonographers, and researchers with a comprehensive overview of how AI can optimize every step of the echocardiographic process. Through expert lectures, practical demonstrations, and discussions on real-world implementation, participants will learn how to integrate AI solutions effectively, evaluate their performance, and understand their impact on diagnostic quality, workflow efficiency, and resource allocation.

By the end of the course, attendees will gain not only a critical understanding of current AI applications but also insights into future trends that will shape the intelligent echo laboratory of tomorrow—smarter, faster, and ultimately better for both clinicians and patients.

Learning Objectives:

1. Understand the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in echocardiography.
Describe how AI technologies are being integrated into clinical workflows to improve efficiency, reduce variability, and enhance diagnostic accuracy in the echocardiography laboratory.

2. Compare proprietary and vendor-independent AI solutions.
Evaluate the strengths, limitations, and interoperability of major commercial platforms (GE Healthcare, Philips, Siemens, Canon) and independent systems (EchoConfidence, Us2.AI, TomTec) for automated image analysis and reporting.

3. Apply AI-driven tools to complex clinical scenarios.
Discuss the diagnostic value of AI in challenging cardiac conditions such as HFpEF, tricuspid regurgitation, cardiac amyloidosis, and right-ventricular dysfunction.

4. Critically assess workflow redesign strategies.
Identify how automation can reshape laboratory operations, staff roles, and quality-assurance processes while maintaining patient-centered care.

5. Gain practical experience with emerging AI platforms.
Through interactive hands-on sessions, experience how to implement, interpret, and troubleshoot AI applications in real-world echocardiography environments.
